Polesworth Parish Council is committed to supporting the many organisations and community groups that help to make a positive difference to the Parish.
Introduction
A grant is a payment by the Council to a voluntary or charitable organisation that will directly benefit the Parish, or some residents of the Parish. Applications will be considered for the following purposes:
- Improve the long term well-being of residents
- Improving recreation and/or sports
- Improving the environment
- Providing a service
- For running costs of a local viable group that is experiencing hardship
- For hosting special events or celebrations
- For activities that raise the profile of the Parish
Grant Application Process
All applications should be submitted using the form below. Your application will then be considered by a future meeting of Full Council. In addition to the application, form organisations may be required to provide the following
information:
- A copy of their constitution or details of their aims and ideals
- Details of the project or activity
- Details of how the grant will be of benefit to all, or some of the residents living in the Parish
- Demonstration of need for the funding
- A copy of the latest audited accounts, or latest figures and a copy of their most recent bank statement
Conditions of Funding
- Grants will not be made to individuals or to businesses
- The organisation must be charitable or non-profit making
- Each application will be considered on its own merits
- Grants will not be made retrospectively
- Only one grant may be made every two years to each organisation
- The Council reserves the right to refuse any grant application which it considers to be inappropriate or against the objectives of the Council
- Grants will not be made to projects that discriminate on any grounds
- Any grant must only be used for the purpose for which it was awarded
Assessment
Polesworth Parish Council will determine:
- If the project costs are appropriate and realistic
- If the grant meets the needs of the community
- The amount of the grant to be awarded
- How effectively the grant will be used
